I just returned from my midweek highlight. Each Wednesday at 11:30 I go to the Windmill Pub and Carvery with my good friend Madeline Walker. We are regular’s around the Windmill and are know by nearly all the staff. It’s great to see the same people each week and see how their faces light up when they are acknowledged and appreciated for their good food and service. Here are a few photos from our time together today:
The Windmill Pub and Carvery.
Me and Madeline at the Windmill.
Pea and gammon (ham) soup which is just beautiful.
You can get roast, turkey, and gammon (or a bit of all three) and all the trimmings you can fit on your plate.
My plate today featured turkey, gammon (ham), roasties (potatoes),
Yorkshire pudding, peas, cheesy cauliflower, cabbage, and swede topped
of with gravy.
My pudding (dessert) called the Chocolate Melting Cake with ice cream
.
So good!!
Madeline and I are an odd couple as there is 40-odd years between us, however, we are the greatest of friends. We talk about anything and everything but get the most joy just taking the mick out of each other and trying to wind each other up. Seriously though, Madeline is a wonderful friend and I look forward to our time each week.
I truly count myself blessed to have friends like Madeline that treat me like family and are so good to me. So, please know that at least once a week I am well fed, as Madeline makes sure I eat until I can’t eat any more.
Just thought I’d give you some more insight to my life here in England.
Be Blessed,
Chad
