Thank you for all the comments, prayers, and support for me and Heather. It has been so good to hear from so many of you. It’s such a blessing to have you all rejoice with us and pray for us during these exciting times. Please continue to pray for me and Heather as we seek God’s will for our lives and where he is directing us next year.
I’m sorry I have not yet posted more pictures and a more details of our engagement story. I promise that I will just as soon as I am able to.
My time here in Jeffrey’s Bay has been wonderful. The first few days were just spent enjoying time with Heather, hanging out at the beach, and enjoying the beautiful weather. The past few days I’ve been doing life with her team, going to a great conference for both the locals and all the ministry teams here, checking out ministry sites, and getting a feel for Jeffrey’s Bay. God is doing some great things here and I believe he is tuning my heart to Jeffrey’s Bay as the next step on my journey and my first step together with Heather.
One of my favourite moments of the past few days was hanging out for a little while at a local “crush” that is like a daycare and after school program. As many of you know, I am one that likes my personal space. Well, as soon as I got out of the van my bubble was no more and I had loads of little black children hanging on me, wanting hugs, asking me to swing them, and just loving a bit of kindness and affection. God used those few moments at the crush to remind me that I am his; his hands and feet and that he calls me to go where he leads me.
I invite you and ask you to pray with me and Heather as we continue our journey together and seek his desire for our lives. I was reading in I was reading in Psalm 145 the other day and there are a few verses I’d like to share and close with.
“I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendor and your wonderful miracles. . . . The Lord is faithful in all he says; he is gracious in all he does. The Lord helps the fallen and lifts up those bent beneath their loads. . . . The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him sincerely. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cries for help and rescues them” Psalm 145:5, 8, 13-14, 18-19 (NLT).
