Hosea 6:1-3 says:

Come, let us return to the Lord! He has torn us in pieces; now he will heal us. He has injured us; now he will bandage our wounds. In just a short time, he will restore us so we can live in his presence. Oh that we might know the Lord! Let us press on to know him! Then he will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of rains in early spring (NLT).

Fact 1: I am a very stubborn individual.

Fact 2: I am at my best in the morning.

This morning God convicted me of some things that I have said and done over the past few days that were not pleasing or honouring to him. Last night my closest friend attempted to speak truth into my life regarding some of these things and unfortunately my stubbornness won out.

In my time with God this morning I read this passage in Hosea and God clearly spoke to me through it. I tried to ignore God speaking because again, I can be very stubborn. However, I reached the point where I was just very frustrated and I knew that my morning was not going to go forward until I repented. So, I went for a walk in my new favourite area called “the Landslide” and I began my prayer time by repenting. After doing so, it’s as if a barrier was lifted and I had connectivity with God again.

So, that is where I am this morning. I thank God for good friends, words of truth, that he connects with us in a variety of ways, and that he loves me right where I am at but that he loves me too much to leave me there.

Let us press on to know him! Then he will respond to us as surely as the arrival of the dawn . . . .

One response to “Repentance”

  1. Good Morning Chad. I understand where you are coming from today. Just on Monday and Tuesday of this week in my time with God, He showed me some specific areas in my life where I was being very stubborn. I repented and God is helping me to move forward. This is an area of my life that I constantly have to keep in check. Thank you for your honesty and your ever willingness to share what God is doing through you. I love you, Mom
